News — knitting

Hubby and I escaped to the mountains last weekend. There is nothing like cool crisp air to excite your senses. The leaves are changing in Virginia and the smell of smoke is already in the air. Apple stands and pumpkin fields dotted the landscape. I finished my cardigan and started a the Sunday Shawl by The Little Bee. Yes it is crocheted. Occasionally I do find myself crocheting. Who can resist this cozy shawl in Madeline Tosh Pasmina? I might throw in a few unicorn tails too.

We are excited to offer a new local hand dyer on the block. The Savannah Yarn Co. produces chunky splashes of color. One skein of 100% Merino wool contains 140 yards. That is enough for a scarf knit on chunky US 15 or US 17 needles. Did I hear you say quick knit?

  I find myself sorting through a list of Holiday gifts to make. My favorite "hint of pink" yarn bowl awaits my next skein of yarn. I think i shall started a cowl in Pepperberry  cashmere yarns. I love the selection of bright colors they offer. What do you have on your needles?
